Hello! I’m Truman. Welcome to my blog! I was rescued from a shelter on September 23, 2009. I was about six months old when I was rescued so that makes me *counts on paws* about fourteen years old. My mom is pretty sure I’m a Tonkinese from my appearance.
I live in a 122-year-old Victorian house in Central Missouri. That may sound very grand, but it isn’t for several reasons. First, it’s in Missouri, and while Missouri is very nice, I would not call it grand (at least where we are). Second, Victorian houses are, well they’re old, which means they always need work. Lots of work. Once you repair one item, five other ones break. Third, our house is solid brick. Brick is a lousy insulator, so our house is very cold in the winter. It is pretty nice in the summer though!
Our house has big windows with deep window sills. I never go outside but I love to lay on the window sills and watch the squirrels and birds. I love sunpuddles too! Once my fur is all nice and warm, I love to step off the window sill of my favorite window in Mom’s office across the table and onto her working table. Sometimes her papers get in my way so I just push them onto the floor so I have room to climb down into Mom’s lap and cuddle with her. I know she doesn’t mind because she loves me.
I love to play with my toys. Little rattle mice are my favorites but I love any toys filled with catnip too. I love to shred paper and cardboard boxes, and I especially love paper balls (of course I end up shredding those too).
I’m a big cuddler. TV time at night is my favorite because I stretch out full length between either Mom’s or Dad’s legs and nap. Sometimes I wake up and watch TV if one of my favorite shows is on.
When it’s time to go to bed I eat, use the litterbox, drink, and climb into bed. I usually sleep on my kitty pillow (it’s a big human body pillow in the middle of the bed but it’s MY pillow) and I usually cuddle against Mom and stay there until it’s time to wake up and eat. I consider it my duty to awaken Mom early so she isn’t late for work, and more importantly, she doesn’t forget to feed me.
I love to meow with other cats (and dogs too) and people who love animals. Feel free to say hi either here or on any of my social media accounts.
Purrs,
I’m Sharlene, or Shar (I answer to both). I’m Truman’s mom, his typist, and his personal assistant. Truman is an absolutely adorable, sweet cat and I’m so blessed to have found him.
I’m a writer (soon to be published), editor, and science nerd. I also love to read, travel, cook, and drink way too much coffee, and I especially love a good burger!
I started this blog to share my love of cats with you. I hope you’ll grab a coffee and spend some time with us. We’re here to entertain you, educate you, hopefully, motivate you to adopt a shelter pet, and show you some wonderful animal-related books to read!
I love to chat, so feel free to say hi here, send me an email, or reach out on any of our social media accounts!
Much love,
